Besides, if it's not the OP's account, how would she have the account number? And do you just hand out your SSN to anyone who asks for it? If you do, let me tell you a story of a friend of mine who is going through something nasty right now from her ex-boyfriend having her SSN.
When you ask for validation you are asking someone to PROVE the account is yours.....I wouldn't tip them off with any type of letter until I have disputed first.
As a sign of my resolve and intent in this matter I am sending a copy of this letter to Mr. Charles T. Fote, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of First Data Corporation.
dogman, I was always embarrassed to use the Aria card and admittedly didn't know what an 'aria' was until an electronics clerk at a Fred Meyer store in Seattle began singing in Italian while holding my card in the air. I didn't want anyone to see my card and here it was center stage in the spotlight. I am NOT kidding, LOL. I learned what an aria was that day and also decided that Providian would be an 'internet only' card. Just one of my battle scars on the way to good credit. They did report faithfully to the big 3 so it was worth it.
So Maybe instead of making a useless sarcastic post to increase your post count you could provide a helpful link to the thread that contains the information.
